November 12, 2024 – Indianapolis-based Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM) has announced the acquisition of ValueKnowledge LLC, a Chicago-area valuation and advisory firm specializing in high-level business valuations. This move, effective October 21, strengthens KSM’s growing business valuation practice, bringing in a seasoned team led by Jim Krillenberger and Andy Stebbins, who will take on roles as managing director and director, respectively.
Founded in 2005 by Krillenberger, ValueKnowledge is known for sophisticated business valuation services, including fair value analyses of intangible assets, impairment testing, and valuations of complex securities for financial reporting and tax purposes. The firm also provides litigation support, primarily for shareholder disputes. ValueKnowledge serves clients across a range of industries, including publicly traded and private equity-owned companies, delivering valuation insights to support complex financial decisions.
With over 25 years of experience, Krillenberger has held prominent roles in the valuation sector, including positions at PwC, EY, and Standard & Poor’s. Stebbins, with a decade of business valuation experience, brings expertise from extensive engagements with private and public companies. Mike North, partner-in-charge of KSM’s advisory services, noted, “Jim’s extensive experience and Andy’s proven dedication enhance our team’s capabilities, positioning us to guide clients through complex financial decisions.”
Krillenberger expressed enthusiasm for the merger, stating that KSM’s reputation and client-centered approach create an ideal platform for ValueKnowledge to expand its services seamlessly. This acquisition follows KSM’s recent addition of New York City CPA firm Shanholt Glassman Klein Kramer & Co., reinforcing KSM’s growth in both valuation and advisory services.
